City of Brantford announced that the first annual Brantford Beats and Eats, an exciting summer festival, will be happening at several locations in Brantford on Saturday, August 2, 2025, starting at 11 a.m.
The full day of events and entertainment leads up to a ticketed Saturday evening performance by JUNO Award and 9-time Canadian Country Music Award winners, The Washboard Union, inside the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts.
“The City is excited to host the very first Brantford Beats & Eats festival this summer,” said Gino Caputo, Ward 2 Councillor for the City of Brantford. “This signature event will highlight the amazing talent and businesses that make our community unique and encourage residents and welcome visitors to enjoy and experience the best of Brantford.”
Residents and visitors can enjoy free live music and entertainment, a sculpture competition, an artisan and vendor market, and delicious food for purchase from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Harmony Square, along Colborne Street East between Queen Street and Bain Street, and at Mohawk Park. Legendary local entertainer, Q-Mack, from Six Nations of the Grand River, will emcee the downtown event. Q-Mack has hosted numerous NBA events over the last 22 years, including the NBA All Star Weekend.
The Mayor’s Family Fun Zone in Mohawk Park will offer free family-friendly entertainment, live music and more from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Saturday evening, one of Canada’s top country bands, The Washboard Union, will take the stage at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts. The band, which is composed of stepbrothers Aaron Grain, Chris Duncombe, and their best friend David John Roberts, are known for their signature vocal harmonies, and dynamic live performances. Sully Burrows, a rising talent in the world of country music, will be opening for the band. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, May 30 at 12 p.m. at www.sandersoncentre.ca.
