Members of the Brant County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), K-9, and West Region Mobile Support Unit were on scene at a barricaded person incident in the village of Scotland at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

OPP officers responded to a disturbance call that took place at a residence located on Queen Street South. The involved subject initially refused to exit the residence and was eventually apprehended by police. 

The accused remains in custody. 

Queen Street South was closed for approximately six hours.
