27-year-old charged with Stunt Driving

A member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Colborne Street East in the County of Brant after observing the suspect vehicle driving at an excessive speed of 116 km/hr in a posted 60 km/hr speed zone at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old driver from Ancaster, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed,
  • Speeding 50+ Km/h over posted limit
  • Fail to surrender insurance card

The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days as per legislation. The driver is scheduled to attend Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on the date of December 15, 2026.

Brantford man facing several charges after traffic stop

A driver is facing several charges including an Impaired-related charge after police stopped and investigated a vehicle.

On Monday, October 5, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., an officer with the Brant County OPP conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 403 West at the Oak Park on-ramp in the County of Brant.

As a result of the investigation, police charged 44-year-old, James Eagleton of Brantford with the following Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act charges:

  • Operation While Prohibited – Legal Restriction from any other Act of Parliament or Provincial Law  
  • Drive motor vehicle – not equipped with ignition interlock device
  • Driver fail to surrender licence
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
  • Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on December 31, 2026.

48-year-old facing Spousal Assault and Mischief charges

Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following an intimate partner violence investigation in Brant County.

Brant County OPP responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the County of Brant at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

As a result of the investigation, a 48-year-old individual from Tillsonburg was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault – Spousal
  • Mischief – Destroys or Damages Property.

The accused was released on a Form 10 release and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford, on November 19, 2026.
