A Rockwood resident is facing charges following a traffic stop on King Edward Street in Brant County.

A member of the Brant Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar enforcement on King Edward Street at approximately 11:47 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024.

The officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at 105km/h in a posted 50km/h zone.

As a result of the traffic stop, a 23-year-old of Rockwood resident has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

·        Drive motor Vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed

·        Speeding 50+ km/h over posted speed limit

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on March 16, 2024, to answer to the charges.
