Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were on patrol on Willow Street in Paris where they observed a vehicle traveling at an excessive speed at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

The vehicle’s speed was displayed on radar at 114 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

The driver, a 29-year-old individual from Paris, was stopped and issued serious penalties under the Highway Traffic Act, including charges of:

  • Drive motor vehicle perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Speeding 50 km/h over the posted speed limit

As a consequence of this reckless driving behavior:

  • The driver’s license has been suspended for 30 days.
  • The vehicle has been impounded for 14 days.
