Brant OPPBrant OPP charge man with Impaired Driving

One person is facing impaired driving charges after Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members initiated a traffic stop early Friday morning.

Officers with the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Highway 24 South in the County of Brant for a Highway Traffic Act investigation at approximately 1:50 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022.

One person was arrested and transported to Norfolk County detachment for testing.

Police have charged 64-year-old Brian Harold SMITH, from Norfolk County with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Drive Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily available,
  • Operate Unsafe Vehicle and
  • Use Defaced Plate.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
