A Cambridge resident is facing charges following a traffic stop on Brant Road in the County of Brant.

A member of the Brant Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting LiDAR enforcement on Brant Road at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

The officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at 156km/h in a posted 80km/h zone.

As a result of the traffic stop, a 23-year-old of Cambridge had been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

·        Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed

·        Speeding 50+ km/h Over Posted Speed Limit

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on January 25, 2024, to answer to the charges.
