One person is facing impaired driving charges after a concerned citizen contacted police to check on a vehicle stopped on Highway 403.

Officers with the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for a vehicle stopped on the side of a Highway 403 off ramp in the County of Brant at approximately 11:03 a.m. on Sunday October 30, 2022.

Witnesses observed a vehicle occupant who appeared to be unconscious which caused them to be concerned. Brant OPP members located the involved vehicle where one person was arrested and transported to Brant County detachment for testing.

Police have charged Simrat Singh BEHGAL, 31-years-of-age from Brant County with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol or drugs and
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date
