Brant County OPP to host Citizen Youth Academy

Brant OPPBrant County OPP to host Citizen Youth Academy

Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will be holding an eight-week Citizen Youth Academy beginning in January.

This is an interactive opportunity for youth in Grade 10-12, who reside in the County of Brant, to learn more about policing. Topics covered include major crime investigations, use of force, canine services, emergency response, forensic identification, fitness, and collision reconstruction.

The OPP is seeking mature, community-minded individuals who possess a genuine interest in policing and seek to expand their knowledge of the career.

The program will be held at the Brant OPP detachment on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m., beginning on January 15, 2025, and concluding on March 5, 2025.

Applications are available at 67 Bethel Road and can also be downloaded from the County of Brant website. They must be dropped off in person at the Brant County OPP detachment and valid photo identification will need to be presented at that time.

Successful applicants will be notified by email in December.
