Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following an incident in Brant County.

Brant County OPP responded to a report of a suspicious person on Colborne Street West in the County of Brant at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Once on scene, the Brant County OPP investigated an individual who was intoxicated. As a result of the investigation, 55-year-old Gary VANASSE from Brantford was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Liquor Licence Act with:

  • Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
  • Being intoxicated in public place

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on October 23, 2026.
