Brant OPPBrant County OPP make arrest during Break and Enter

One person has been arrested and is facing charges after Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members responded to a break and enter in progress from a new build site on the border of the City of Brantford.

Brant County OPP received a report for a break and enter in progress at a residential build site on Colborne Street West at approximately 3:54 a.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

The security company monitoring the site was able to direct police to the location of the suspect who was arrested and transported to Brant detachment.

Edward James WITT, 43-years-old from Brantford has been charged with the following offences:

·        Break, enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence,

·        Possession Break in Instruments and

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
