19-year-old facing Stunt Driving and Speeding charges
A member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Johnson between Hansford Drive and Brant County Road 18 in the County of Brant after observing a vehicle travelling at an excessive rate of speed at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026.
The officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area when a vehicle was observed travelling at a speed of approximately, 130 km/h in a posted 60 km/h speed zone.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old driver from the Town of Paris, Ontario has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed,
- Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days as per legislation. The driver is scheduled to attend Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on the date of June 25, 2026.
Driver charged following traffic stop in Brant County
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment has charged a driver following a traffic stop in Brant County.
On May 18, 2026, at approximately 7:20 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Broadway Street West in the county of Brant. Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver was operating a motor vehicle while being prohibited under the Criminal Code, and further to that had no current insurance coverage on the vehicle.
As a result, a 63-year-old driver from Brant County has been charged with:
- Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
Brantford man facing Impaired Driving charges
A driver is facing impaired driving charges, following an investigation by Brant County OPP. On the evening of May 16, 2026, at 8:30 p.m. officers were called to attend Broadway Street West at West River Street regarding a vehicle driving erratically in the County of Brant.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged 30-year-old, Richard BROOKS from Brantford, with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on July 2, 2026.
Ingersoll resident facing Stunt Driving charges
On Friday, May 15, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Oakland Road in the County of Brant after observing a vehicle travelling at an excessive rate of speed.
The officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area when a vehicle was observed travelling at a speed of approximately, 95 km/h in a posted 50 km/h speed zone.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old driver from Ingersoll, Ontario has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed,
- Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit,
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days as per legislation.
Paris resident facing one count of Spousal Assault
Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following an intimate partner violence investigation in Brant County.
Brant County OPP responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the county of Brant at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old individual from the town of Paris was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with Assault – Spousal.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford, on June 19, 2026.
