A Brant County resident is facing charges following a traffic stop in Paris, Ontario.

Members of the Brant Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrol when they observed suspicious driving behaviour on Rest Acres Road in Paris at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024.

Upon speaking to the driver of the vehicle, officers had a reason to believe that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

Ryan LUMAX, 34-years-old of Brant County, has been charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)
  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol
  • Operation While Prohibited
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Not equipped with Ignition Interlock Device
  • Novice Driver – BAC above Zero
  • Disobey Stop Sign – Fail to Stop
  • Fail to Notify Change of Address

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on June 13, 2024.
