A member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 403 on Saturday January 13, 2024.

At approximately 9:11 a.m., the officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at 155km/h in a posted 100km/h zone. A traffic stop was initiated with the driver, and the driver fled.

Police were able to locate the subject motor vehicle at a service station moments later.

As a result of the investigation, Cansin VAROL, a 24-year-old from Oakville, has been charged with the following offences:

·        Flight from a Peace Officer – Contrary to the Criminal Code

·        Drive Motor vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed – Contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice – Brantford, on March 8, 2024.
