Brant OPPBrant County OPP charge 22-year-old with Stunt Driving

Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were on patrol on Bishopsgate Road in Brant County at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

They observed a vehicle traveling at an excessive speed. The vehicle’s speed was displayed on radar at 103 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.

The driver, a 22-year-old individual from Waterloo, was stopped and issued serious penalties under the Highway Traffic Act, including charges of:

  • Drive motor vehicle perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Speeding 1-49 km/h over the posted speed limit

As a consequence of this reckless driving behavior:

  • The driver’s license has been suspended for 30 days.
  • The vehicle has been impounded for 14 days.

Although the driver has only been licensed since September 2022, this is their second Stunt driving charge in less than 3 months, with no previous convictions.

The Brant OPP underscores that ensuring road safety is a collective responsibility, and enforcement actions are essential to maintaining safe road conditions for everyone.
