Editor’s Note: Brant County Health Unit (BCHU) will now provide COVID-19 updates weekly, every Tuesday.

Brant County Health Unit (BCHU) provided its weekly COVID-19 update on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

Currently, there are 70 total active cases with 75 new cases being reported in the last seven days. Currently, there are six people hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Since the pandemic began, BCHU has reported 11,243 total confirmed cases, 11,088 total resolved cases and 85 deaths.

Currently, there are four COVID-19 outbreaks declared at long-term care facilities, retirement homes and congregate living settings. Locations with COVID-19 outbreaks include: Queensview Retirement Community in Paris with six cases in residents, Salvation Army Brantford- Booth Centre with seven cases, Hardy Terrace in Brantford with one resident case and one staff case, and St. Joseph’s Lifecare with five cases.

Brantford General Hospital has a COVID-19 outbreak on the B6 Unit with three patients having COVID-19.
