Brant County Health Unit (BCHU) provided its daily COVID-19 update. All statistics are as of today, Friday, April 8 at 11:00 a.m.
Currently, there are 268 total active cases with 55 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours and eight people in hospital.
Since the pandemic began, BCHU has reported 9,088 total confirmed cases, 8,753 total resolved cases and 67 deaths.
The Province of Ontario reported 4,295 new cases on Friday. There are currently 1,135 people hospitalized with COVID-19, and, of those in hospital, 166 are in intensive care units (ICU).
