Brant County Health Unit (BCHU) provided its daily COVID-19 update. All statistics are as of today, Friday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m.

Currently, there are 100 total active cases with 16 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours and seven hospitalizations.

Since the pandemic began, BCHU has reported 4,515 total confirmed cases, 4,385 total resolved cases and 30 deaths.

In other COVID-19-related news, Grand Erie District School Board announced there were four elementary school cases in the district in the last 24 hours, including 1 positive case at Lakewood Elementary, 2 positive cases at West Lynn Public School, and 1 positive case at River Heights, leading to a COVID-19 outbreak being declared at the school within the last 24 hours.
