Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board (BHNCDSB) elected Norfolk County Trustee Carol Luciani, Chair of the Board and City of Brantford Trustee Bill Chopp as Vice-Chair for the one-year term during their annual general meeting on Monday, December 9, 2025.
In Chair Luciani’s address to the district, she shared that, “as we begin this new chapter together, we do so with clarity of vision and a renewed commitment to the students we serve. Our focus remains steadfast: fostering belonging, advancing teaching and learning, and promoting wellness for every student and staff member in our care. These are not independent goals; they are interconnected pillars that uphold the success and flourishing of our school communities.”
Previously serving five years as Vice-Chair and this past year as Chair of the Board, Luciani has experience in leadership and governance and is an advocate for inclusivity and equity in the classroom. Luciani served the district as an elementary school principal for many years and is a dedicated member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Delhi and the Catholic Family Parishes of Norfolk communities.
Joined by the Senior Leadership Team, trustees attended a Celebration of the Eucharist presided by the Most Reverend Father Augustine Ogundele, Diocese of London, with BHNCDSB Religion and Family Life Consultant, Keri Calvesbert and Curriculum Arts Consultant, Chris Rait providing music ministry.
