Brant OPPAncaster resident facing Stunt Driving charges

An Ancaster resident is facing charges following a traffic stop on Colborne Street in Brant County.

A member of the Brant Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar enforcement on Colborne Street at approximately 12:52 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024.

The officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at 162km/h in a posted 80km/h zone.

As a result of the traffic stop, a 21-year-old of Ancaster resident has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

·        Drive motor Vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed

·        Speeding 50+ km/h over posted speed limit

·        Fail to Have Insurance Card

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on April 16, 2024, to answer to the charges.
