Brantford Ward 5 councillor candidate passes away

City of BrantfordBrantford Ward 5 councillor candidate passes away

The City of Brantford has learned that Municipal Councillor for Ward 5 candidate Eric Mundy passed away suddenly.

“We send our condolences to Mr. Mundy’s family and friends,” said the City of Brantford, in a press release.

With the Municipal Election to take place on Monday, October 24, 2022, the voting ballots including Mr. Mundy’s name have already been printed and cannot be revised at this late stage in the election process.

As Mr. Mundy’s passing does not create an acclamation for Ward 5 Councillor positions, the election will continue and the results will be produced on October 24 for the remaining candidates.

Public notices of Mr. Mundy’s passing will be posted at all in-person voting sites and on the Municipal Election 2022 online voting page at Brantford.ca/OnlineVoting.
