The Great Canadian ButterTart Fest drew bakers, artisans and visitors to the Paris Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
Organizer Christine Ivany mentioned 80,000 butter tarts took over the fairgrounds for the weekend event.
“Most will sell by the end of the weekend,” said Ivany, founder and promoter of All Canadian Events.
Ivany said the festival had 30 bakers and 80 artisans. Visitors travelled from within a four-hour radius, and some came from the United States, she added.

The festival included food trucks, an indoor market and an outdoor market where vendors sold a variety of items. Butter tart vendors, outdoor games and Halloween decorations were also part of the event.
“This year, we also brought in Junk in the Trunk for the thrifters,” said Ivany.
Ivany said many visitors planned to go downtown for dinner after leaving the fairgrounds.
“Most spoke of the excitement to visit downtown after leaving and have dinner at the restaurants,” said Ivany. “We were happy to add to the support of downtown because of the dig, especially.”

Ivany mentioned the festival helps local vendors gain more popularity and new customers.
“We were able to give exposure and recognition to the bakers and small businesses,” said Ivany. “Connection is what they look for, as well as sales, of course. There aren’t many opportunities like this where thousands are in attendance.”
