Six Nations Police Service (SNPS) will be conducting a back-to-school traffic safety blitz beginning the week of September 8, 2026, as students across the community return to the classroom.
Throughout the week, officers will conduct increased patrols in high-traffic areas and school zones to promote safe driving and help ensure students, families and school staff can travel safely.
Motorists are reminded to reduce their speed in school zones, obey all posted traffic signs, stop for school buses when required, and remain alert for children and other pedestrians crossing or walking near roadways. Drivers should also allow additional travel time and expect increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up periods.
Parents, guardians and students are encouraged to use extra caution when walking to and from school, including looking both ways before crossing roadways and using designated crossings whenever possible.
Road safety is a shared responsibility. SNPS is asking all motorists to slow down, stay alert and help keep our community’s students safe as they begin a new school year.
