Seven individuals, including three from Brantford, are facing charges following the seizure of more than 6.5 kilograms of illicit drugs and firearms in connection with a multijurisdictional drug trafficking investigation in southwestern Ontario.
In January 2026, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG) initiated an intelligence-led investigation into suspected drug trafficking throughout southwestern Ontario. Investigators identified two separate criminal networks operating independently: one primarily in the Brantford and Brant County areas, and another in London and on the Oneida Nation of the Thames Settlement.
On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, PGNG executed search warrants at four locations in Brantford and Paris with assistance from the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Haldimand and Oxford County OPP Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) and Brantford Police Service.
On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in collaboration with the Oneida Police Service, search warrants were executed at a residence in London and on the Oneida Nation of the Thames Settlement by PGNG, OPP TRU, OPP Provincial Liaison Team, OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, and members of the Middlesex, Lambton and Oxford County OPP CSCU, as well as the London Police Service.
As a result of the investigation, officers seized the following with approximate quantities:
- 6.5 kg suspected fentanyl
- 420 g suspected cocaine
- 250 g suspected methamphetamine
- More than C$73,500
- Handgun with an auto-switch
- Rifle
- Three prohibited magazines, including an over-capacity drum magazine
- Ammunition
- Brass knuckles
- Drug trafficking paraphernalia
- Two stolen camper trailers
- Stolen 2019 Honda Civic
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is more than $913,000 and the estimated value of the stolen property exceeds $100,000.
The quantity of fentanyl seized represents approximately 65,000 potentially lethal street-level doses.
Seven individuals have been charged with 64 offences contrary to the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Five individuals were arrested, and arrest warrants have been issued for two individuals.
