Ayvah Thomas, a Grade 9 student at Assumption College School (ACS), has earned two significant athletic honours securing her place among Ontario’s top young archers. Thomas has been selected to compete in the Ontario Summer Games this August and has also been chosen to represent Ontario at the 2027 Canada Winter Games in Quebec City, where she will compete in the U18 girls compound division.
Thomas began competing in archery at the age of eight and has since built an impressive record, collecting numerous podium finishes and establishing herself as a rising talent in the sport. Her recent selection places her among the strongest youth competitors in the compound category.
“I was very hopeful that I would be chosen and when they announced my name I couldn’t believe it. I am excited and really looking forward to travelling and meeting athletes from all sports across Ontario,” Thomas said.

Her teachers at ACS describe her achievements as a reflection of her character both on and off the field.
“As her teacher, I am not surprised that Ayvah earned this position,” said Jennifer Rodger, teacher at Assumption College School. “She is a driven, talented young woman who excels in the bilingual/extended French program at Assumption. She radiates joy, hard work and determination in everything she does. I wish her the best and know that she will prosper from this experience.”
Thomas will continue training throughout the summer as she prepares for both the provincial and national stages.
