City of Brantford announced the appointment of Wayne Robinson to the role of Deputy Fire Chief of Operations for the Brantford Fire Department on Friday, May 29, 2026.
Following a recruitment process, Deputy Fire Chief Robinson was selected for the role based on his extensive experience in fire operations, training and organizational leadership. With more than 23 years of experience with the Brantford Fire Department, he began his career as a firefighter in 2003 and was promoted to Captain and Acting Platoon Chief in 2024.
Throughout his career, Deputy Fire Chief Robinson has been heavily involved in the technical rescue program on shift and providing training at other educational institutes, while continuing his own professional development through fire department management at Dalhousie University.

Deputy Fire Chief Robinson began his new role on Monday, June 1, 2026.
