Paris resident facing Assault with a Weapon charge

Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following an intimate partner violence investigation in Brant County.

On May 2, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Brant County OPP responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the County of Brant.

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old individual from the town of Paris was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault with a Weapon – Spousal,
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford, on June 20, 2026.

OPP charge person after Impaired Driving investigation

A driver is facing Impaired Driving charges, following an investigation by Brant County OPP.

Officers conducted a traffic stop at Silver Street at Grand River Street North in the County of Brant at 12:20 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 45-year-old from Paris, with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand,
  • Driving while under suspension

Upon completion of all release and court documents, the accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on June 19, 2026.
