Minister of Emergency Preparedness visits Brant County

County of BrantMinister of Emergency Preparedness visits Brant County

Jill Dunlop, Minister of Emergency Preparedness and Response, visited the County of Brant to meet with Mayor David Bailey, members of Council, MPP Will Bouma, and County staff on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

During the visit, County staff provided Minister Dunlop with an overview of the flood preparedness program and emergency response equipment purchased through funding from the province’s 2024–25 Community Emergency Preparedness Grant. The equipment, including a motorized sandbagging machine, trailer, and river level monitoring device, strengthens the County’s ability to plan for, prepare for, and respond to flood events.

Minister Dunlop also highlighted Ontario Corps, a volunteer service that residents can register for to provide assistance to the community during emergency situations, such as floods and other natural disasters. For more information, and to register online, please visit ontario.ca/ontariocorps.
