Person facing charges after domestic assault investigation

Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following a domestic-related incident in Brant County.

On November 21, 2025, at approximately 6:35 p.m., Brant County OPP responded to a 911 call regarding a possible disturbance at a residence on Brant Road, Brant County.

Investigation determined that a verbal argument between two individuals occurred at the residence, and no injuries were reported to police. One person was in violation of four release orders regarding not attending the residence and having any contact with the second person. The involved parties are known to one another.

 As a result of the investigation, one individual from Brant County was charged with:

•          Fail to comply with release order X4

The accused was held for bail court.

Norfolk man facing Stunt Driving charges

A member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Oakland Road after observing a vehicle travelling at an excessive rate of speed at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

The officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area when a vehicle was observed travelling 101 km/h in a posted 50 km/h posted speed zone.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old male driver from Norfolk has been charged with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
  • Speeding – 101 km/h in a 50 km/h Zone
  • Possess Unmarked Cigarettes

The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days as per legislation. A court date has been set for January 6 2026.

Welland man facing two counts of Assault

Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following a domestic-related incident in Burford, Ontario.

On November 22, 2025, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Brant County OPP responded to a 911 phone call regarding a possible disturbance at a residence in the town of Burford, Brant County.

Investigation determined that a verbal argument between three individuals escalated into a physical altercation. No injuries were reported as a result. The involved parties are known to one another.

 As a result of the investigation, one 38-year-old male from Welland was charged with:

•          Assault X 2

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
