Motorcyclist facing charges after two-vehicle collision
Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Highway 24 and Colborne Street West, on Monday, September 22, 2025.
At approximately 9:04 p.m., emergency services responded to the scene where two vehicles, a motorcycle and a motor vehicle collided, sending the driver of the motorcycle airborne 20 feet before coming to rest on the roadway.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 41-year-old male, had been disqualified from driving on three previous occasions and was driving a stolen motorcycle. The driver was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision. The driver of the motorcycle was subsequently charged with:
- Operation While Prohibited X 4
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Over $5000.00
Person arrested after Domestic Assault investigation
Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following a domestic-related incident in Brant County, Ontario.
Brant County OPP responded to a report of an assault at a residence at approximately 3:28 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025.
Investigation determined that a verbal argument between two individuals escalated into a physical altercation. One person sustained minor injuries as a result. The involved parties are known to one another.
As a result of the investigation, one individual from Brant County was charged with:
• Assault causing bodily harm
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
Brantford man facing charges after collision on Hwy. 403
Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 403 at approximately 8:06 p.m., on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
During the police investigation it was found that the driver Ryan HALASHEWSKI, a 28-year-old male from Brantford, appeared to be impaired and was taken into custody. Halashewski was charged with the following offences:
- Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand,
- Dangerous Operation
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on October 09, 2025.
Brant OPP requesting assistance after theft of trailer
Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft of an enclosed trailer from a commercial property on Garnet Road.
The incident occurred between September 14 and September 19, 2025. The stolen enclosed trailer is described as a Green and Black enclosed trailer with no VIN, no marker, being rebuilt to make it into a food truck. It should be locked and have a generator, saw, other tools inside.
