County of Brant announced the launch of Brant in Bloom 2025, celebrating local gardens, community pride, and sustainable living through this year’s Communities in Bloom program on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
Following a successful inaugural campaign last year, the County is, once again, welcoming residents, businesses and community groups to help beautify our communities; this time with a focus on edible gardens.
“Communities in Bloom is about celebrating the beauty, sustainability, and spirit of our community,” said David Bailey, Mayor for the County of Brant. “We can’t wait to see how residents bring this year’s edible garden theme to life and contribute to making the County of Brant an even more vibrant place to live.”
This year’s theme, Edible Gardens, encourages planting fruits, vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers. These gardens not only add beauty to our neighbourhoods but also support environmental sustainability, food security, and healthy living.
“With the 2025 theme of ‘Edible Gardens,’ we’re encouraging everyone to take part, whether you’re planting a few herbs or a full backyard plot,” said Stacey Ellins, Director of Parks and Recreation for the County of Brant. “Together, we’re showing that growing food and community can go hand in hand.”
Judges from the Communities in Bloom program will visit Brant on July 23 and 24, 2025, to evaluate the County based on six key criteria: community appearance, environmental action, heritage conservation, tree management, landscape, and plant and floral displays.
