Kitchener woman charged with Operation while Impaired

A concerned citizen called 911 to advise of a possible impaired driver in the area of Salisbury Avenue at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.
The caller reported that the driver was observed behind the wheel of a vehicle while appearing to be falling asleep, driving slowly, and swerving erratically. 
 
Brantford police attended the area and located the motor vehicle at the intersection of Salisbury Avenue and Ontario Street. A lone female was observed behind the wheel.
 
A traffic stop occurred, and in speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment. 
 
The accused was arrested for operation while impaired and transported to provide samples of her breath as required by law. Both samples were over three times the legal limit.
 
As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old female from Kitchener stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 
  • Operation while Impaired – plus 80

Additionally, a license suspension was issued, and the vehicle impounded as per law.
