Brantford man charged after fatal five-vehicle collision

CrimeBrantford man charged after fatal five-vehicle collision

Charges have now been laid in connection with a fatal collision in the Greater Napanee area that occurred late in 2024.

On September 18, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers from Lennox and Addington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Napanee Fire and Lennox and Addington Paramedic Services responded to a five-vehicle collision on Highway 401 between County Road 5 and Switzerville Road overpass. Two transport trucks and three passenger vehicles were involved.

One person was confirmed deceased at the scene. Other people were transported to the hospital with varying degrees of injuries.

On Thursday, May 8, 2025, following an extensive investigation, Gursewak SINGH, a 25-year-old from Brantford, was arrested and charged with:

  • Dangerous operation causing death
  • Dangerous operation causing bodily harm – two counts

The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on June 3, 2025.
