Six Nations Police have arrested an individual for proceeding through the traffic lights in the village of Ohsweken.  

an officer with the Six Nations Police Service was on general patrol in the village of Ohsweken at approximately 12:05 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

The officer observed a vehicle travelling on Chiefswood Road, approaching the  intersection at Fourth Line. The vehicle made a stop at the red traffic light but proceeded through the red light. The officer conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and spoke to the male driver. It was determined that the driver is prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.  

As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Joseph Montour (70-years-old) from Ohsweken, Ontario with the following criminal and provincial offences: 

– Operation while Prohibited x 2  

– Driving while under Suspension x 2  

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford, Ontario on May 23, 2025.
