Local NewsBrantford delivery driver killed in head-on collision

A 55-year-old Brantford man was killed after a head-on collision with a gravel truck on Monday, March 24, 2025.

The incident occurred on Hwy.5 between Millgrove Side Road and Rock Chapel Road at approximately 9:30 a.m. said Sgt. Kerry Schmidt of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

The fully loaded gravel truck was travelling eastbound on the highway when the van, which was heading west, “came into the path” of the tractor-trailer, Schmidt said.

“The driver of the tractor-trailer was not able to avoid the collision,” said Schmidt. “The driver of the smaller delivery truck was ejected in the head-on collision.”
