Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver with multiple offenses following a collision on Highway 24 South.

Brant County OPP received a 911 call from witnesses reporting a vehicle swerving on the highway before colliding with a snowbank near Colborne Street West at approximately 8:58 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Officers arrived on scene and located the driver, who displayed signs of impairment. As a result of the investigation, Michael Turner of Ancaster 39, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance (Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act)
  • Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming Owner (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing. He has been released from custody with a future court date in Brantford.
