Brantford’s Soup for the Soul serves over 120 Christmas Eve meals

Local NewsBrantford’s Soup for the Soul serves over 120 Christmas Eve meals

It’s a tradition that started 25 years ago.

The Soup for the Soul program at St. Andrew’s church in Brantford provides free meals to those in need five days a week.

On average, the Soup for the Soul program serves 200 people at each meal. Everyone is welcome, including youth, seniors, the unemployed, working people, and the homeless.

Volunteers started arriving at 8 a.m. to prepare for their Christmas Eve meal where they were expecting to serve over 120 meals.

Over the year, the program serves more than 34,000 meals.

Today’s meal was partially funded by a $1,000 donation from the Greek community in Brantford.

If you know someone who could benefit from the program or would like to help, visit chch.com for the link to the Soup for the Soul website.
