County residents facing multiple drug trafficking charges

Brant OPPCounty residents facing multiple drug trafficking charges

Members of Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) assisted by CSCU members from Oxford, Emergency Response Team (ERT) members, and OPP Canine Services executed a search warrant at a Governors Road East residence in the County of Brant on Wednesday, December 18, 2024,

During the search warrant, police seized a quantity of illicit drugs and stolen property. Two people were taken into custody and have been charged with numerous offences.

A 38-year-old from the County of Brant has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin) – two counts
  • Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number
  • Fraudulent Concealment
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000

A 39-year-old from the County of Brant has been charged with:

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin) – two counts
  • Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number
  • Fraudulent Concealment
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000

One of the accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford on February 13, 2024. The second accused was held for a bail hearing.

Police are continuing to investigate and anticipate additional charges.
