Officers with the Six Nations Police Service have arrested and charged an individual following a vehicle apprehension pursuit.
Officers observed a vehicle that had fled from police earlier in the evening on Second Line Road at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024.
The vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed, driving erratically and failed to stop at a posted stop sign. Multiple Tire Deflation Devices (TDD) were utilized to disable the vehicle after a vehicle apprehension pursuit was initiated.
After the successful deployment of a TDD, officers located the vehicle in a driveway at a residence a short distance away. The vehicle was unoccupied. Officers requested the assistance of the K9 Unit. The K9 unit attended the scene and was successfully able to locate the individual on the property. The vehicle was later confirmed to be stolen.
As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Lerissa DUDAS SIMON (45 years old) of Ohsweken, ON with the following criminal offences:
– Dangerous Driving
– Impaired Operation
– Flight from Police
– Operation while Prohibited x 2
– Possession over $5,000
The accused was held in custody pending a formal bail hearing.
