SC Johnson, a long-time Brantford company, will remain in the municipality after all parties concerned came to a facilitation agreement on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
In response to concerns expressed by SC Johnson last summer regarding a proposed development that could potentially impact their operations, Brantford City Council advocated against the rezoning of 58 Morrell Street, submitting opinions to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT), and convening a Facilitation Team led by Kevin Davis, Mayor for the City of Brantford.
The team, made up of City staff including, Michael Bradley, Commissioner of Community Development), Geoff Daley, Legal Services, Ray Petro, Real Estate Services, as well as, Councillors John Sless, Gino Caputo and Rose Sicoli, played a crucial role in guiding the resolution process.
The resolution reached would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders. Brantford City Council extends its sincere thanks to all parties involved, including provincial representatives, community members who provided invaluable feedback, and SC Johnson for their continued confidence and presence in Brantford.

I also want to acknowledge the province of Ontario, particularly Paul Calandra, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and Will Bouma, MPP for Brantford-Brant, for expediting the assignment of a facilitator to guide the resolution process.”
