29-year-old man charged with Attempted Theft

Crime29-year-old man charged with Attempted Theft
On Friday, November 26, 2021, at approximately 4:40 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to a location on Clarence Street regarding an attempted motor vehicle theft.
Upon investigation, officers determined that the accused had attended to the parked motor vehicle and proceeded to damage the driver’s door lock in order to gain access to the vehicle. Once inside, the accused damaged the ignition system in an attempt to steal the vehicle. The accused was unsuccessful and left the area on foot.
Utilizing images from nearby surveillance footage, officers were able to identify and locate the accused nearby.
The accused was subsequently arrested. Information received indicated that the accused was in violation of a valid probation orders.
As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old man from Brantford (No Fixed Address) stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 
  • Attempt Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Breach of Probation
