OPP identify Brantford woman who died as a result of intense storm

On Saturday, May 21, 2022, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment members, County of Brant Fire Department and Brant-Brantford Paramedics responded to a report of multiple persons injured at a campground on Pinehurst Road in the County of Brant.

As a result of a significant weather event in the area, two people were transported to an area hospital by paramedics with minor injuries. A third person was transported with serious life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased. The deceased has been identified as Shelby Humble-Neale, 27 years-old from Brantford. 

OPP are advising members of the public to avoid close proximity to any trees that may have been damaged by the storm, even if there is no visible sign of damage.

The Brant County Crime Unit is continuing their investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
