One person dead after car fire in the County of Brant

Brant OPPOne person dead after car fire in the County of Brant

The Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single motor vehicle on fire on Cockshutt Road in Brant County at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

Brant OPP officers, along with members of Brant County Paramedic Services and Brant County Fire Department, responded to the scene to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames with one occupant inside the vehicle.

The lone driver succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Cockshutt Road will be closed between Hagan Road and Burtch Road, including the Indian Line Cockshutt Road intersection. Brant County OPP are asking motorists to avoid this area as the investigation is still ongoing.

Members of the Brant OPP Crime unit are assisting Brant County OPP with this investigation.
