Looking for fun, camaraderie and inspiring speakers?
Come join us. You’re welcome to attend one of our regular meetings if you don’t know a current member to see if our club is a good fit for you. The goal of the Probus Club of Brantford is to provide fellowship, friendship and enjoyment for people in their retirement and semi-retirement years. We thrive through the engagement and participation of our members. You’ll find a wealth of new experiences and a much-expanded network of friends. We have interesting guest speakers, group activities and social events, stimulating conversation and the chance to explore our community.
The organization is non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit making and non-fundraising. Speakers and operating costs are covered by our annual membership dues. Additional fees may be charged for special events and group activities
Our next regular Probus meeting will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with keynote speaker, Janet Summerville, author, frequent contributor to the Toronto Star Book pages and often interviews authors for libraries, publishers as well as writer’s festivals. Janet taught literature for twenty years in Toronto. She spent three years wholly immersed in Martha Gellhorn’s life and words, research that led to Yours, for Probably Always. Janet will speak about Martha Gellhorn (the third wife of Ernest Hemingway) and her pioneering work as a war correspondent and lifelong advocacy of social justice
