The City of Brantford in inviting community members to participate in a series of upcoming workshops to create a collaborative Community Peace Mural to be located on the wall to the right of the stairs ascending from the Market St. Parkade to Colborne St. E.

“We encourage community members from all walks of life to partipat4e in these mural workshops,” says Laura Almeida, Administrative and Project Coordinator for the City of Brantford.

The workshops will be led by professional muralist and workshop facilitator, Yasaman Mehrsa, an Iranian-Canadian visual artist with a focus on public art.

All workshops will be held at Community Living – The Dunn Building, 440 Elgin St. Brantford.

Introductions and Brainstorming – Thurs. May 2, 4:00 – 6:00pm
Storytelling and Symbol Exploration – Thurs. May 9, 4:00 – 6:00pm
Visualizing the Mural – Thurs. May 16, 4:00 – 6:00pm
Colour Palette and Design Refinement – Thurs. May 23, 4:00 – 6:00pm
Final Design Adjustments and Celebration – Thurs. May 30, 4:00 – 6:00pm
