The George Rose Big Band is in its 44th year of operation out of the Brantford area, during which time we have played all over Ontario, from the Fallsview Casino in Niagara to the town hall in New Liskeard or Toronto’s Royal York to the Canadian Legion in Tobermory. The band has recorded 8 full length albums and also produced some videos. We started in 1982 here in Brantford where we developed a loyal following, playing primarily music fro the swing era, but as time went on most of our playing was out of town, and the repertoire evolved into more than swing including jazz, show tunes, and pop covering such artists as Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Chicago , BS&T, Elvis, Sinatra, Neil Diamond and many more. We have since tried to play annual concerts in the Brantford area for our old fans, who otherwise would probably not get to hear the band. Our audience is generally varied, from older folks that remember some of the older classics to younger up and coming musician types who like to pick our musicians minds, as the work on improving their craft.
