This is a concert by the George Rose Big Band that has operated out of Brantford area for the past 44 years, and played all over Ontario, from the Fallsview Casino in Niagara to the town hall in New Liskeard, the Royal York in Toronto, to the Canadian Legion in Tobermory. We started in 1982 playing mostly traditional swing music from the 1940’s big band era, but have developed into a far more versatile group that plays jazz, show tunes, pop tunes made famous by artists like Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Chicago, BS&T, Elvis, Sinatra, and so many more. This event will present a cross section of the music we have played over the years, as we remember former band member who are now departed. We find our audiences to vary in age from the elderly to current up and coming young musicians who like to pick our brains and learn more about their craft, plus everyone in-between. We built a local following years ago when we played more in the greater Brantford area, but now that most of our work takes us out of town we attempt to do a local concert like this annually for those who remember our early days, and still want to hear the band.
